Overview
LinkedIn works with Twitter.
Now you can tweet your LinkedIn status to your Twitter followers or automatically post your tweets as your LinkedIn status. Or do both. Read on and see how the professional conversation is evolving here on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Co-founder Reid Hoffman and Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone conclude that their sites go together like chocolate and peanut butter.
2. Join LinkedIn and Twitter Accounts
Join your accounts and all sorts of wonderful things will happen. You can paint a broader picture of your professional interests and ideas by making your Twitter ID appear right on your LinkedIn profile.
To add your Twitter account, visit “Edit My Profile” and click “Add Twitter account” next to the Twitter field. Twitter will ask you to verify your account name and password. Once the account is verified, you’ll be asked how you’d like to share your tweets on LinkedIn (see below). Note that once your accounts are joined, you can change this setting at any time by clicking “Edit” next to your Twitter account name.
Note that in order to send tweets from Twitter to LinkedIn, your Twitter account must be set as public. Make sure the “Protect my tweets” box is not checked in your Twitter Settings.

3. Twittering and Status
You can choose which LinkedIn status updates you share with Twitter, as well as which tweets are displayed as your LinkedIn status. This gives you complete control over which networks see your updates and what they see, automatically or manually.
To share updates from Twitter to LinkedIn, visit the settings page. Here you have the option to share all tweets, to share only tweets that contain #in or #li, or not to share tweets at all. You can change these settings at any time be clicking “Edit” next to your Twitter account name.
To share updates from LinkedIn to Twitter, check the box next to the Twitter icon on the LinkedIn home page. The first time you do this, Twitter will verify your account name and password. Whenever the Twitter box is checked, that update will publish to your Twitter feed.
Note that LinkedIn filters out “@ replies” so if you begin a tweet with @linkedin, for example, it will not appear in your status. Also, if your tweets don’t show up in a Twitter search, they won’t show up on LinkedIn.

If you have connections who share lots of content in your Network Updates stream, you can hide those connections from view and keep your stream relevant to your professional interests. Just roll over an update and click ‘Hide’. If you change your mind, you can always restore those updates with just a click to see what you’ve missed. This function is a great way to keep your LinkedIn news feed useful and relevant to your career.

4. #in and #li
Hashtags (#) are a way to provide additional context for your tweets. Use #in or #li to publish your Twitter updates to your LinkedIn status. Just make “#in” part of your tweet (for example, “Working on a new blog post about design optimization. #in”), and it will be displayed as your LinkedIn status. These can be added to your tweets at any time and will override your sharing settings. If your tweet is personal and you don’t wish to share it with your professional crowd, just exclude #in or #li.
5. Tweets and Company Buzz
You can access timely and relevant Twitter content on LinkedIn by installing Tweets and Company Buzz. These apps give you a quick view of what’s popular, top tweeters, and more.
Tweets gives you access to the basic elements of Twitter right on LinkedIn. You can display your tweets on your profile, view tweets of people you’re following on your LinkedIn home page, and tweet out both to Twitter and your LinkedIn status.
