News Module

The news module collects news about the company you have listed on your profile. If you are not receiving news, please make sure that your current organization is listed. If you still don’t have a news module, please be patient as we’re still working on rolling out news to include all companies and users.

The news module appears on your Home page and updates you with the latest news relevant to your company and industry categorized by:

  • Most Read: articles that have been viewed the most by members of your company
  • Company: articles that are about your company
  • Other Companies: articles that are about similar companies and competitors
  • Industry: articles about your industry

News Homepage

For a more detailed list of important news, you can click through to the news homepage by either clicking the [My Company] News header or clicking “See more news”. The news homepage provides an archive of relevant articles sorted by Company, Industry, Other Companies, and Most Discussed.

Discussions

The news feature allows you to discuss relevant articles with people in your company. To comment on an article, you can either start a discussion or join an existing discussion within your network. If the article does not have any comments there will be a link to “Start Discussion”. If the article already has a few comments it will show that there are, for example, “(4 comments)”. Clicking on either of those links will bring you to a discussion page that all confirmed users within the network have access to view and interact with. To post a comment, enter it in the comment box and click “Submit”. Network updates will be sent if your privacy settings are set to notify connections.

When you comment on an article, everyone that is a confirmed and current member of that group has access to see it. In order to be a confirmed member of a company group, you must verify your company email address through your LinkedIn Account & Settings

You can also recommend an article to your entire network by clicking on “Recommend” in the lower left side of the article on the News home page. This will share the article as a network update to all of your connections.
