Inbox
Overview
Your New LinkedIn Box
The inbox is the control panel for all of your LinkedIn user interactions. Now we’ve made it easier to manage all of your important messages. Whether you’re accepting an invitation to connect from an old colleague, requesting an introduction to a potential investor, or reviewing a forwarded profile of someone you may hire, all of these interactions pass through your inbox.
Inbox
Unread inbox items will appear at the top of your homepage, but you can always access all of the messages in your inbox by clicking on the link on the left side navigation bar of any LinkedIn page. Here you can sort your messages using the three tabs at the top: Received, Sent, and Archived.
Your inbox lets you view all messages that are new or require your attention. A bolded message indicates an unread message and a flagged item indicates an item that requests an action from you.

Filters & Search
You can now search through your received, sent, and archived messages by using the convenient search box on the right side of the inbox. Simply search by sender or any keywords to find exactly what you’re looking for.
If you want to filter the type of messages that appear in your inbox to just invitations or inMails for example, you can quickly categorize your messages by hovering over the drop-down tab and selecting the appropriate category. Also, by clicking on the respective category headers, you can sort your messages by sender, subject, action items, status, or date.
Organizing Messages
Using the checkboxes on the left of a particular message, you can archive items and mark them as either read or unread. Just check the boxes you want, and use the action buttons at the bottom of your inbox. Additionally, you can set your own action items by placing or removing a flag under the action items column.
Your LinkedIn inbox is a great record-keeper of your professional communications and requests. Archiving your messages optimizes the experience for the items you see today, and your ability to retrieve any sent or received items in the future. After reading a message, simply click “archive” to send the item to your archives.
To access your archived items, just click on the “Archived” tab to view, sort, and search through your archived messages.
