Your Linked “In” box
The Inbox is the control panel for all of your LinkedIn user interactions. Whether you’re accepting an invitation to connect from an old colleague, requesting an introduction to a potential investor, or reviewing a forwarded profile of someone you may hire, all of these interactions pass through your Inbox.

Directory

The main folder in your inbox is Action Items. Here you can view all messages that are new or require your attention. Flagged items indicate requests for action from people in your network and others on LinkedIn.

Your inbox also automatically categorizes your messages by interaction type. All requests and messages including those that have already been viewed and/or acted on are classified and placed in the appropriate folder for reference.

Inbox Columns

When viewing messages within a folder, in addition to clicking on the subject of the message to read it, you have a few other options:

  • Check the box to select messages, and then perform a bulk-archive
  • Sort messages by the column headers (From, Status, Date)

Your unread messages are bolded

Archiving Messages

Your LinkedIn Inbox is a great record-keeper of your professional communications and requests. Though there is no limit to the number of items you can store on LinkedIn and they are never deleted, we recommend archiving received messages that you have already acted on. Archiving your messages optimizes the experience for the items you see today, and your ability to retrieve any sent or received items in the future. All of your archived messages are available within the individual folders in your inbox, by clicking on the “Show archived messages” link within that folder.
